Mole National Park, located in northern Ghana, is home to wild animals such as buffalo, baboon, wild boar, crocodile and elephant. To visit Mole National Park, you must have your own transportation. This can be inconvenient, but renting your own vehicle is quite inexpensive, especially if the cost is divided among a group.

To enter Ghana you must have a visa. You must also have proof of yellow fever vaccination upon arrival. Malaria and dengue fever are also major health risks in Ghana and precautions against such diseases are recommended. You are also sensitive to drinking only treated water and eating fresh, hot food.

The climate in Ghana is very hot and remains that way throughout the year. So it really is up to you when you want to visit this country. The tropical climate comes with tropical rains, so it might be wise to try to avoid the months of April to June when rain is most common. Northern Ghana tends to be the hottest area so avoid it if you prefer cooler weather or go up there if it is similar to hot sticky weather.

The currency of Ghana is the Ghana cedi. The cost of living in Ghana is reasonable and can fit even the tightest budget. Accommodation, even the most basic, is clean, comfortable, and affordable. This can make Ghana an ideal destination for all travelers looking for a taste of Africa but without the huge expense.
