Hypnosis is an extremely effective way to make lasting, positive changes in your life. Through hypnosis you can talk directly to your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is where your habits are formed, believed to develop, and behaviors can be modified. With hypnosis, the conscious mind is bypassed and suggestions go directly to the subconscious mind. It is very important to use the language of the subconscious mind. This is the language of emotions and feelings and to which the subconscious mind will respond.

Use positive statements when writing a script. As an example, don’t say that I hate smoking, instead say that I love being healthy and strong, being able to breathe fully. If you suggest something negative, the subconscious mind will only reinforce that negative as it takes things too literally. What happens is that your subconscious mind will first have to think about the act of smoking and then think about not doing it. This is really a thought process of the conscious mind.

It’s always a good idea to say the suggestion several times in several different ways. Using weight loss as an example, you could say the following. I enjoy the feeling of being trim and slim, I love the way people see me as healthy, my body feels healthy and fit.

It helps if you can do things personal. The reason for this is that the subconscious mind understands emotions and the personal is often emotionally based. Weave your feelings, hopes and ambitions into the script. It’s also better to use terms like “my health” “I will” instead of terms like “your health.” This only applies when you make a script for yourself.

When writing your script, follow a logical flow. This means that you have to say things in a way that is easy to do. As an example, you could say “every day my energy level goes up as my stress level goes down, I can feel my life getting better day by day” instead of “I’m full of energy without stress.” As you can see, the second suggestion is abrupt and doesn’t flow.

Use deepening suggestions that don’t create fear. An example of a digging suggestion that might create fear is to say “you are going down the steps into the dark cellar, going deeper underground.” A better digging suggestion would be to say, “It’s a cold night and you’re slowly pulling the covers up. As they pass your feet, you can feel them warm and relax.” The idea is to have a sense of comfort, security and deeper suggestions.

Make your suggestions as simple and clear as possible. Always keep your suggestions looking to the future. The future may be a minute from now, but you should always look to the future.

If you can paint a verbal picture, this can be extremely helpful. Paint the picture of the person after they have achieved the goal. As an example, say “you are walking down the street when you see an old friend and stop to talk, the friend pulls out a cigarette and offers you one. You politely decline and as you do, take a deep, full breath. Feel the flow of clean, fresh air into your healthy, strong lungs. Use descriptive words to help create more excitement.

These suggestions are just some basic guidelines for creating a hypnosis script. Start simple and build from there.
