Your Personal and Financial Documents are very important when you submit your Canadian Permanent Resident Visa application. I recommend you send with your application NOTARIZED copies of all the documents that I will describe the following weeks of the program, except the following (which must be original):

– Immigration forms Academic transcripts

– Police certificates

– Bank statements

– Reference letters

– Results of the language test (s)

– Images

Some of the personal and financial documents that you should gather as soon as possible are:

a) Identity and marital status documents

– Birth certificate

– Wedding

– Final divorce

– Cancellation or Separation

– The death certificate of the former spouse must – if applicable

– Certificate of citizenship or permanent resident visa (copy) for any family member who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada

b) Children’s information

– Children’s birth certificate (showing the name of their parents)

– Adoption documents (if applicable)

– Proof of custody (children under 18 years of age) and proof that the children can be removed from the jurisdiction of the court.

– Proof that the main applicant has complied with any obligations set out in the custody agreements (only if the children will not accompany the applicant to Canada)

– Proof of full-time studies (only dependent children aged 22 or over).

You must include:

I. School records (from the age of 22)

ii. Letters from each school indicating the number of days of attendance per week and the number of hours per day.

– Proof of financial support from parents (from the age of 22)

c) Travel documents and passports – Passports / travel documents for:

– Main applicant

– Spouse or common-law partner

– Dependent children (only pages showing passport number, issue date, expiration date, photo, name, date and place of birth)

– Copy of visa from the country where you currently live (only if you live in a country other than your country of nationality)
