Bread has always been one of my biggest challenges when it comes to dieting. I love bread! And if you didn’t have some kind of bread with every meal, you didn’t feel whole! Well, little did I know that bread was one of the main things that kept that unwanted weight on me. They always taught me that if you eat wheat bread instead of white, it is a healthier option. I’m sure some of you were taught the same. Well guess what guys, they taught us wrong again! Isabel De Los Rios (certified nutritionist) breaks it down.

She admits it is a better option, but she is still fattening. It’s okay to eat a little bread once in a while, but not breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He goes on to explain that bread of any kind is very heavy for us. So if healthy weight loss is our goal, we are definitely going in the wrong direction by eating so much bread. There really are many more options that we can choose from than bread. I know you probably feel like me when I first heard this, can you really cut bread out of your diet?

Well, if the fact that you are maintaining that unwanted weight by eating a lot of bread is not enough, you may want to read on. Did you know that eating 4-5 servings of bread a day can also lead to terrible illnesses like type 2 diabetes and heart disease? I don’t know about you, but my health is much more important than any kind of bread, including wheat! I don’t just make a sandwich anymore, because naturally you’d have to put it on, you guessed it, wheat bread!

We really have to break a lot of the bad habits that we have trained ourselves for. Just take a few minutes and pack your own snacks before you go to work. This will certainly help you, because that way you won’t be tempted to go to the snack bar or cafeteria where you know there is a good chance that you will eat something that makes you fat. You can have snacks like a banana, some nuts, dried fruits, etc. I’m sure you get the message! No longer will you have to take out your fattening sandwich on wheat bread and think you’re on your way to eating a healthy lunch!
