Many thanks to Janet (not her real name), who had a session with me to help her with a phobia of dogs, during an online and in-person EFT training weekend. This was a while ago, as far as I can remember the session went something like this.

We begin by taking some details around this phobia. Janet had grown up with a dog, she was never quite comfortable with other dogs, and she said something about pitbulls. Clearly the pitbulls were surfacing an energy disruption, and we generally tapped for a short time to de-stress.

I then asked Janet if she would show him an episode of the show “Pitbulls and Parolees” which I love to watch (and told her why it was one of my favorite shows), what number it would be on, where the 10 worst was and 0 type. calm. Janet immediately said that she couldn’t see it at all and that the number was 15.

In the workshop setting, I made the decision to let her subconscious mind think about the block of energy she needed to release. So, I took my hand out and asked her to imagine that my hand is a television screen. Janet had the virtual remote control in her hand, and a video of her life was playing on the TV screen. Janet was watching many episodes, good, bad, and indifferent, going back and forth, until the right episode came up, and Janet was able to pause the episode at the beginning or end. I asked if the episode had a title, what would the title be? The answer was “Catcher Dog”.

We started tapping on “Dog Catcher” in general when the SUDS was around 10. Then when it dropped a few points I asked Janet to tell me the story. It was a TV episode Janet had seen, about a dog catcher, where the pit bull that was being caught grabbed the dog catcher’s chest and clenched it with its jaws. We did it step by step, from one part of the episode to the next, until we got to the part where Janet had changed the channel. We keep tapping until we reach 0.

Along the way, the guilt of a memory of not always taking care of her dog as a child surfaced and she was released. This may seem strange, but every negative emotion is a negative emotion, and any event encapsulates an energy disruption connected to several negative emotions, so we simply release the energy disruptions without needing to question them on a logical basis. Logic is logical, emotions don’t have to make sense.

Then Janet came up with another event. This was a regularly recurring event. A neighbor was walking his Staffordshire bull terrier in a chunky collar. Janet met them on the street regularly. She kept referring to her thick neck. At this point, I took the time to tell Janet about a pitbull whose owner had dressed her in a tutu and diamond necklace, after both of them had been spat on numerous times, and how everyone had reacted favorably to the peaceful couple ever since. then. I love that story and I allowed my positive emotions to show while talking about it.

The SUDS (distress level) was a 9 or 10 at first. We tapped for “thick neck”, “Staffordshire bull terrier”, and another aspect that came up, that the owner looked rough. The SUDS went down to zero, and on the way from the lowest SUDS to zero, the story about the pitbull in the tutu and the diamond necklace came to Janet.

Then Janet was delighted to see “Pitbulls and Parolees.” We watched it together and we shared that beautiful feeling, seeing two of the most hated sectors of society as they really are: loving, supportive and great members of society, in the right environment. I am very grateful to Janet for allowing me to walk this path of her life with her. And we are all blessed that Janet has allowed me to publish this story.
Lastly, just a small caveat.

This was a quick win, as Janet reacts very quickly to EFT Tapping. If her phobia is more complex, she recommends that she attend sessions with an experienced practitioner or that she learn EFT from a Trainer who, in addition to training experience, is also an experienced practitioner. If EFT is completely new to you, download a free guide, available from many EFT/Tapping resources, or explore an introductory session with a qualified practitioner.

I hope this helps you or someone you love.
