The Malaysian Tourism Board promotes the country as Truly Asia. Fascinating fusions of tradition and modernity, Malaysia’s cities have a unique multicultural heritage, cuisine, art and architecture that make them ideal cosmopolitan getaways. The mixed background of Chinese, Malay, Indian and colonial heritage constantly surprises Western travelers with cultural richness and harmony, weaving a truly Asian spectrum of varied sights and sounds.

Kuala Lumpur city center

Travel to the city of Kuala Lumpur and you will be impressed by the ultra-modern Petronas Twin Towers in the Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC). The Petronas Twin Towers are 452 meters tall, contain 88 stories, and are the tallest twin structures in the world.
Situated on the former site of the Royal Turf Club in the heart of the capital city, Kuala Lumpur’s city center is truly a spectacular architectural sight. Here, the 88-story Petronas Twin Towers, the tallest twin structures in the world, rise to a dizzying 452 meters. Cesar_Pelli was the architect of this masterpiece. Inspired by the Five Pillars of Islam, this gleaming megastructure was designed by the Argentine-American architect in the early 1990s. Beneath the towers is a beautiful fountain park designed by noted Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx. KLCC is also home to the world-class Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Suria Mall and Petronas Philharmonic Hall.

Kuala Lumpur railway station

Take a short taxi ride from KLCC and be enticed by the classic Moorish style of the old train station. Kuala Lumpur railway station is located on Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It is a very beautiful building. It has a Moorish style that was designed by the architect AB Hubbock. Built in 1910, the building is about 80 years old. I’m sure it was built long before you and I were here. In 1986, the station was extensively renovated, upgraded to have an air-conditioned waiting room, snack kiosks, tourist information booth, and much more. In the past, it used to be very quiet, but since the city’s commuter service started, it is now a very busy station. All Intercity train services no longer stop here because there is a new train station opened called KL Sentral, less than 1 KM from the old train station.
