Consulting fortune tellers, horoscopes and mediums is fun and harmless?

No, it’s not. Such activities amount to demon worship.

Yahweh God strictly forbids people from being psychics and mediums and forbids people from consulting such, as the following Scriptures show:

“Let no one be found in you who puts his son or daughter through the fire, nor who practices divination, nor who practices sorcery, nor enchanter, nor sorcerer, nor sorcerer, nor who consults with a familiar spirit [a medium], or a magician, or a necromancer. For anyone who does these things is an abomination to the Lord.” (Deuteronomy 18:10-12, WEB)

“Do not turn to mediums or magicians. Do not look for them to contaminate yourself with them. I am Yahveh your God”. (Leviticus 19:31)

Under the Mosaic covenant, mediums, diviners, and diviners were to be put to death (Leviticus 20:27). Under the new covenant for Christians, none of these people will enter the Kingdom of God, so they are destined for the eternal death penalty (Galatians 5:19-21; Revelation 21:8).

Why does Yahweh forbid divination and similar activities? Because psychic powers are not from God but from demons. After the Apostle Paul cast out a demon from a fortune teller, she was no longer able to give readings:

And it happened that we were going to pray when a girl who had a spirit of divination met us, who gave her masters much profit by divining the future. After Paul and us, she shouted: These men are servants of the Most High. High God, who announces to us a way of salvation! She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming very angry, turned and said to her spirit: ‘I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!’ It happened at that very hour. But when her masters saw that the hope of her gain had vanished, they seized Paul and Silas, and dragged them into the plaza before the rulers. (Acts 16:16-19)

Many are unaware that supernatural powers, such as prediction of future events and energy healing, are not God-given and non-divine. But from this passage in Acts 16 and others in the Bible, we see that the source of such supernatural abilities is Satan, because “Satan masquerades as an angel of light. It is therefore not strange if his servants also masquerade as servants of justice.” whose end shall be according to his works.” (2 Corinthians 11:14-15) That is why Yahweh warns us to stay away from practicing these powers. In addition, we do not need such powers, because every person who places their trust in Jesus will be able to connect personally with God, without the need for an intermediary, in addition to Jesus, the Son of God; Jesus is the only mediator we need.

Jesus specifically said, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21) Therefore, if we want to reflect God’s goodness, we must do God’s will to the best of our ability. Yahweh said: “Be holy, for holy am I, Yahweh your God.” (Leviticus 19:2) So if we want to serve him and reflect his goodness, we must be holy, and the way to be holy is to do what he says and conform to his standards, not ours.
