Looking to stream audio on your website? If so, I think you’re doing yourself a huge favor. Studies have shown that website audio is known to increase conversion rates online with consumers, so streaming audio on your site is a wise move.

If you want to stream audio on your site, the first thing you need is an audio sample. You can easily create it through your computer. If your computer comes pre-built with an internal microphone, you can record an audio sample directly to your computer.

If your computer doesn’t have a built-in internal microphone, you can use a tool like a webcam to record your audio. I used to create YouTube videos with my webcam and extract the audio from the videos to create podcasts. The laptop I had at the time did not allow recording directly to the computer, so I had to use an external device to record my sound.

Once the audio sample is created, you will need to convert it to an MP3 file. The MP3 format is the most commonly accepted form of audio today, so it is important that you become well acquainted with it. Once you convert your sample to an MP3 file, it is time to convert it to flash format.

You need to convert your audio to flash format because this is the most common form of website audio today. If you try to stream audio with just a raw MP3 file, your website will take forever to load and users would have to wait until the entire file is downloaded to hear your audio sample.

But with the flash format, there is no waiting. The most common form of flash files today are SWF and FLV. YouTube accepts FLV files (I thought you should know). Regardless, you will need to convert your MP3 audio file to one of these formats. To do this, you will need software to do it. If you try to convert an audio file to flash format manually, then you would be trying to do a tremendous feat. Instead, go the easy route and use software.

There are all kinds of software that can convert your audio for you. Some are easy to use and some are not so easy. Obviously you want to stick with the easy one so that you can play audio in real time simply and easily. When looking for software to use, make sure it has a user-friendly graphical interface.

Some programs are so complex that it is virtually impossible to make audio using the program. Be sure to choose a program that provides screenshots of the software in the product description or sales page. This is the best way to determine if the software will be easy to use or not.

Use these tips to play audio in real time on your website. Streaming audio can increase product conversion rates and increase your sales through the roof.

Good luck with your efforts to stream audio on your website.
